LUCKNOW, Sept. 6 -- Registrations for the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET 2025) have hit a record high, with more than 2.53 million candidates set to appear on September 6 and 7. This marks a jump of over 5.25 lakh compared to last year's 2 million registrations. To accommodate the surge, the examination will now be conducted across 48 districts in four shifts spread over two days. Nearly 6.33 lakh candidates will appear in each shift-10 am to noon or 3 pm to 5 pm. In a key change this year, UPSSSC has extended the PET score validity to three years, up from two years in 2023 and just one year earlier. "Hereafter, PET will be the sole gateway for shortlisting candidates for all UPSSSC recruitment exams. No separate eligibility tests will be conducted," said chairman SN Sabat.
