UP junior men in national hockey c'ship semis
LUCKNOW, Aug. 21 -- Spirited Uttar Pradesh stormed into the semifinals of the 15th Hockey India Junior Men National Championship 2025 - Division 'A', notching up a thrilling 2-1 win over Hockey Madhya Pradesh in the quarterfinal, at Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium in Jalandhar on Wednesday.
The first breakthrough came in the 34th minute when Satyam Pandey converted a penalty corner to give Uttar Pradesh the lead (1-0). Their advantage doubled in the 47th minute as Akash Pal scored a fine goal, stretching the lead to 2-0.
Hockey Madhya Pradesh managed to score a consolation through a penalty stroke in the 60th minute, but Uttar Pradesh's solid defense ensured a safe passage into the last four. For his outstanding all-round performance, Ujjwal Pal was adjudged the Player of the Match....
