LUCKNOW, Nov. 3 -- Defending champions Uttar Pradesh on Sunday qualified for the knockouts of the Women's Under-19 T20 Trophy even after losing to Gujarat by five wickets in their last league match of Elite Group B, at the RDCA Ground in Raipur. After this loss, Uttar Pradesh with three wins and 14 points made it to the knockout stage behind Gujarat, who topped the table with 18 points with four wins in the Elite Group B. Jharkhand (12 pts), Saurashtra (8 pts), Odisha (4 pts) and Madhya Pradesh (4 pts) finished at third, fourth, fifth and six positions, respectively. In fact, Uttar Pradesh could make 72/9 in 20 overs while batting first after winning the toss and that too even after a good start. In reply, Gujarat romped home in 16 overs.
