LUCKNOW, March 14 -- The Uttar Pradesh government has given the go-ahead to the state police to buy eight units of radar panel for two anti-drone systems to strengthen security of VVIPs and religious places in the state. A radar panel for an anti-drone system is a specialised surveillance sensor designed to detect, track, and identify small, low-flying unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). "Governor is pleased to sanction a total sum of Rs 22,21,17,648/- to buy eight units of Radar Panel (Rs 2,77,64,706/- per unit) for two units of Anti Drone System." said a government order dated 12 March 2026 issued by special secretary home (police) Annavi Dinesh Kumar. The state government is strengthening the security of the VVIPs during their visits. It is also strengthening security of sensitive and important religious places like Ayodhya (Ram Janmabhoomi), Mathura (Krishna Janmabhoomi), Varanasi (Kashi Vishwanath) and Prayagraj (Triveni Sangam) etc. Earlier this month, the state government approved the procurement of four anti-drone guns with detection systems.
