UP govt hospitals treating 2 lakh outpatients every day: Pathak
LUCKNOW, Sept. 25 -- Healthcare has seen a drastic change in Uttar Pradesh, with hospitals now equipped with upgraded equipment and the deployment of more paramedical staff for better patient care, said deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak on Wednesday.
Speaking at a function organised to launch and lay the foundation for 84 health projects at various hospitals in the state, Pathak said, "After 2017, there has been a continuous effort to upgrade health services. The previous government gave people poor healthcare."
The stone-laying and inauguration of health units were for healthcare facilities in several districts, including Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Agra, Ghazipur, Kaushambi, Basti, Muzaffarnagar, Ayodhya, Aligarh and Gonda districts.
"The state has 65 medical colleges. Twenty-seven para-medical colleges have also been started. Every day, government hospitals in the state are treating over two lakh outpatients," said Pathak.
"Also, 31 hospitals in the state will be equipped with digital equipment for which Rs 10.74 crore has been sanctioned. Hospitals in Varanasi, Forozabad, Badaun, Kasganj, Amethi, Lucknow, Auraiya, Ayodhya, Mathura, Bulandshahr, Mau and Banda will get new equipment," he said. "We have 108 district hospitals, 259 speciality hospitals, 972 community health centres, 3,735 primary health centres, 25,774 health sub centres and 22,681 Ayushman Aarogya mandir serving patients," he said....
