Lucknow, Aug. 20 -- The Viral Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS), Lucknow, has launched an intensive state-level training programme for lab technicians and non-medical scientists on ELISA-based testing for dengue and chikungunya. Organised in collaboration with the Dengue Division of the Department of Health, Uttar Pradesh, the programme includes training over 200 technical personnel from across the state. The goal is to ensure rapid, accurate diagnosis during the high-risk monsoon season when mosquito-borne infections typically surge. 20-day hands-on training According to Professor Rungmei SK Marak, head of the Department of Microbiology at SGPGIMS, the 20-day training is being held in phases, with nominated participants representing various districts.
