LUCKNOW, Sept. 26 -- The Uttar Pradesh government has announced the early disbursal of student scholarships, ahead of the usual schedule. On September 26, in the presence of chief minister Yogi Adityanath at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, scholarships will be distributed to more than 4 lakh students across the state. A government spokesperson described the early disbursal as a significant move aimed at easing financial pressure on families and allowing students to focus on their studies without disruption. Narendra Kashyap, minister of state (independent charge) for empowerment of persons with disabilities and backward classes welfare, said the distribution timeline marks a historic shift. "Previously, scholarships were given in February-March. Now, they are being distributed during Navratri in September so that students receive the benefit on time. For them, this will also feel like a Diwali gift," he said.
