UP defeat Rajasthan, lift Divya Shakti Sugamya Bharat Trophy
VARANASI, Dec. 23 -- Uttar Pradesh Divyang cricket team won the final of Divya Shakti Sugamya Bharat Trophy, defeating Rajasthan at the amphitheatre ground of BHU.
Rajasthan captain Jaswant Singh won the toss and invited Uttar Pradesh to bat first. Batting first, the Uttar Pradesh team scored 161 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Chasing a big target of 162 runs, the Rajasthan team could score only 139 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Uttar Pradesh won the final match by 22 runs. Kumar Rahul of the Uttar Pradesh team bowled brilliantly, taking 3 wickets for 9 runs in 4 overs, and for his performance, he was awarded the Man of the Match.
The winning and runner-up teams were presented with trophies and cash prizes, and all the players who participated in the match were honoured with medals.Speaking as the chief guest at the closing ceremony, social worker Keshav Jalan said that success in a person's life is determined not by their physical condition but by their mental state.
