LUCKNOW, Oct. 11 -- On the direction of the Election Commission of India (ECI), Uttar Pradesh chief electoral officer Navdeep Rinwa completed the hearing for registered political parties that had not submitted their annual audit reports and election expenditure statements to the ECI by the due date. Earlier, the ECI had issued show-cause notices to 127 political parties registered in the state for not submitting their annual audit reports and election expenditure statements. Of them, representatives of 66 parties attended the hearing conducted by the CEO. Rinwa thoroughly examined key documents submitted by each party, such as contribution reports, annual audit reports, and election expenditure statements, and also verified the mobile and registration numbers, current and email addresses of all parties. "The political parties participating in elections must submit their contribution report by September 30 and income-expenditure audit report by October 31 each year. Similarly, all parties are required to submit details of their income and expenditure within 90 days after the Lok Sabha elections and within 75 days after the assembly elections," the CEO said.htc...
