UP ATS arrests co-director of Greater Noida firm for publishing hate literature
LUCKNOW, Nov. 9 -- The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) on Saturday arrested Farhan Nabi Siddiqui, co-director of M/S Istanbul International Pvt Ltd, from Kasna, Greater Noida, on charges of publishing and distributing books aimed at spreading enmity among different religious and social groups, said senior police officials in a press note shared with media by UP Police Headquarters in Lucknow.
According to the press note, intelligence inputs revealed that the company, operating from Hakikat Printing Publication in Greater Noida's EPIP Site, was engaged in publishing provocative literature to incite hatred and discord among communities.
The firm was also allegedly receiving funds from abroad through hawala channels and other illegal means.
Further investigation by ATS uncovered that Farhan Nabi, along with Nasi Torba and several associates, had set up multiple entities, including M/S Istanbul International Pvt Ltd, M/S Hakikat Vakfi Foundation, and M/S Real Global Express Logistic Pvt Ltd, to facilitate the illicit activities.
Authorities allege that about Rs.11 crore was funneled from foreign sources, primarily Turkey and Germany, and used to purchase land in Amroha (Uttar Pradesh) and Punjab under the guise of establishing madrasas, mosques and commercial ventures.
The ATS officials also stated that foreign nationals arriving from Turkey and Germany were provided accommodation by Farhan Nabi without informing local authorities, and that he had allegedly offered shelter to illegal Bangladeshi immigrants.
During the arrest operation, police recovered two mobile phones, three laptops and 12 books published in Hindi, Urdu, Arabic, and Bengali, suspected to contain objectionable content.
A case has been registered at ATS Police Station, Lucknow, under Sections 152, 196, 318(4), and 61(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. The accused was produced before a court and further legal proceedings are underway.
Authorities said efforts are on to trace the funding network and identify other individuals or organisations linked to the case....
