LUCKNOW, Aug. 14 -- The plan to provide primary treatment to injured and accident victims is facing setbacks as police response vehicles (PRVs) in the city are stocked with expired medicines, limiting police personnel's ability to offer aid, according to an official letter. DCP, UP 112, has written to the chief medical officer (CMO) seeking medicines for all vehicles to ensure primary treatment. The UP 112 emergency service responds to people in need, and in cases of accidents or emergencies, PRV-assigned personnel are expected to assist. At present, 64 four-wheeler and 81 two-wheeler PRVs in the Lucknow police commissionerate are equipped with first-aid boxes, but the medicines earlier provided by the CMO have expired, as per the letter.
