Kanpur, May 13 -- A man from an Unnao village killed his wife and two daughters, aged 6 and 10 years, before killing himself on Monday morning, police claimed. The incident took place in the couple's residence in Sahibkheda in the district's Achalgunj area, the police said. The husband and wife were identified as Amit Yadav, 35, and Geeta Yadav, 30. Police said the incident came to light after Amit's brother, Sandeep Yadav, alerted the authorities. Superintendent of police Deepak Bhukar said: "Prima facie, it appears that Amit strangled his wife and children before hanging himself. No visible injury marks were found on the bodies, and a conclusive cause of death will be ascertained after postmortem." Forensic teams examined the site, and the bodies were sent for autopsy, he added. Family members told police that Amit had been "under stress" recently but did not elaborate on the reasons. Locals suggested domestic discord as a possible trigger, though the police said the motive was unclear. "We are probing all angles, including financial or familial issues.
