United in pride, state witnesses surge in patriotic sentiments
Lucknow, May 8 -- : Patriotic fervour gripped Uttar Pradesh as people across the state hailed the Indian Army's decisive action under 'Operation Sindoor' against terrorist camps in Pakistan. Streets, homes, and marketplaces buzzed with celebrations, slogans, and an overwhelming sense of national unity.
Amidst beating of drums, Prayagraj residents distributed sweets and raised slogans of 'Bharat Mata ki Jai'. Residents also took to the streets with flags at dawn and saluted the army's valor.
In Kashi, the response was electric. As soon as locals learned about Operation Sindoor, they burst crackers, hurled gulal, and chanted "Bharat Mata ki Jai" and "Jai Hind."
In Gorakhpur, Basti, Maharajganj, and Kushinagar, flag hoisting ceremonies, processions, and public gatherings demonstrated wide public support. Lawyers, students, corporators, and traders joined hands in these events.
Muslim-majority areas like parts of Deoria also took part in the celebrations. Hafiz Nazre Alam of Madarsa Husainia applauded the strike, calling it a "befitting reply to terrorism."
Meerut witnessed a powerful expression of solidarity, especially at Hapur Adda, where the e-rickshaw union brought together Hindus and Muslims in a rare display of communal harmony. Amid chants of "Bharat Mata ki Jai," people exchanged sweets and celebrated the army's valour. In Bulandshahr's Akbarpur , Muslim residents hailed the air strike as a rightful answer to the Pahalgam terror attack.
Festive scenes also unfolded in Pilibhit. The atmosphere there remained electric, united by pride and a clear message: the people of Uttar Pradesh stand together in support of the armed forces and against the menace of terrorism....
