Haridwar, Dec. 14 -- Buildings and religious structures across the core mela zone of Har-ki-Pauri and the adjoining Ganga ghats will be given a uniform colour scheme ahead of the Ardh Kumbh Mela in 2027, officials said. The initiative will cover markets, lanes, roadsides, and both residential and commercial buildings in the area, mela officer Sonika. The Haridwar-Roorkee Development Authority (HRDA) has begun work on the project, which is being implemented in a phased manner, she added. Light saffron has been chosen as the primary colour. Members of the trader fraternity have welcomed the idea. "It is a good initiative to paint buildings in the mela zone in a single colour.
