LUCKNOW, Nov. 11 -- Cracks developed on the road near Awadh Crossing during the ongoing underpass construction work. Taking note of the same, officials concerned have instructed its immediate repair to prevent further widening of the cracks. Pooja Srivastava, project manager, UP State Bridge Corporation Corporation said, "The cracks appeared due to the box pushing process used for the tunnel. The road is old, which contributed to the issue. Barricades have been placed for safety, and the contractor has been instructed to repair the damage immediately." Soil was excavated during the box pushing process, which loosened the sidewall layers and led to surface cracks on the adjoining road. The damage has appeared on the route leading from the flyover toward Awadh Crossing, right next to the underpass construction zone.
