LUCKNOW, July 7 -- Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel recovered an unclaimed bag containing Rs 20 lakh in cash from the Gomti Nagar Intercity Express (train number 15081) during a routine escort duty on Sunday, an official press release stated. The bag, a black backpack, was discovered in coach number 193400/C NE by head constable Hriday Lal Manjhi and constables Surendra Pratap Chaurasia and Jitendra Chaudhary. "Upon arrival at Gonda station, the matter was reported, prompting a joint inspection by RPF inspector Aniruddh Rai, IPF/CIB Uday Raj, platform inspector KL Yadav, and deputy station superintendent Lala Bhaiya," according to the press release. The cash, wrapped inside a purple bedsheet, was found inside the unattended bag. Passengers denied any knowledge of it, officials said.
