GORAKHPUR, Dec. 13 -- An FIR has been lodged against an ultrasound operator at the Gorakhpur district hospital for allegedly harassing a woman during a medical examination. Medical superintendent Jay Kumar on Friday evening debarred the accused from duty and recommended his suspension to higher authorities. The incident reportedly took place on Wednesday, and the woman filed an FIR at the Kotwali Police Station on Thursday evening. The woman alleged that the operator forced her to undress and inappropriately touched her during the ultrasound procedure, Kotwali SHO Onkar Dat Tiwari said. Tiwari added, "An FIR has been registered. Statements are being recorded, and necessary evidence is being collected. " Kumar confirmed that the hospital is treating the allegation with utmost seriousness.
