U.P. to spend Rs 6,124 cr on ring roads, bypasses, flyovers
LUCKNOW, May 26 -- The Uttar Pradesh government plans to spend Rs.6,124 crore on the construction of ring roads, bypasses, and flyovers to ease traffic congestion across the state.
The PWD has prepared a comprehensive blueprint for expanding road connectivity in the financial year 2025-26. A total of 62 projects-including new bypasses, ring roads, and flyovers-have been identified for implementation. These infrastructure works are strategically planned to reduce traffic pressure and improve the overall transportation network, the state government said in a press statement issued on Sunday.
High-traffic areas will be prioritised based on population and urgency. According to the PWD, the initiative is expected to enhance connectivity and significantly improve traffic management, ensuring smoother and safer travel for the public.
"Improving road connectivity will not only enhance transportation but also support Uttar Pradesh in achieving its goal of becoming a $1 trillion economy," the statement added. htc...
