U.P. govt to digitise all pre-1990 revenue records
LUCKNOW, May 19 -- In a major move towards digital governance, the Yogi government has initiated the digitisation of all revenue records predating 1990 to ensure their permanent preservation and security, a government spokesman claimed here on Sunday, adding the stamp and registration department is in the process of appointing an agency to undertake the task, marking the third phase of the digitisation drive.
"According to the progress report submitted to the chief minister, 95% of revenue documents from 2002 to 2017 were digitised by April 2025. The tendering process for digitising records from 1990 to 2001 is currently underway through UPDESCO," the spokesman said.
"Once completed, the focus will shift to pre-1990 records, which will be scanned and securely stored," he added....
