LUCKNOW, May 23 -- Uttar Pradesh has so far established 33 bio-energy projects with a total investment of Rs 1,664 crore. In addition, a total of 147 bio-energy projects have received principal approval, with a combined cost of Rs 5,289 crore, according to a press statement issued by the state government on Thursday. Following approval from the state level committee and completion of third-party inspections, the subsidy disbursement process for these projects will commence. Of these, 62 projects have been approved by the state level committee so far, amounting to Rs 2,676 crore. Among these approved projects, there are 47 bio-CBG projects with a total capacity of 407 tonnes per day (TPD) and a cost of Rs 2,589 crore. Additionally, 6 bio-coal projects with a capacity of 253 TPD and a cost of Rs 15 crore, and 9 bio-diesel projects with a capacity of 438 kilolitres per day (KLPD) and costing Rs 72 crore have also received approval. According to UPNEDA, following approval from the principal and state level committees, these projects undergo third-party inspection by IIT, after which the subsidy disbursal process begins. Currently, 25 bio-CNG plants have been established in the state, with a total capacity of 213 TPD and an investment of Rs 1,600 crore, said the press statement. Additionally, 3 bio-coal plants with a combined capacity of 110 TPD and worth Rs 12 crore, and 5 bio-diesel plants with a capacity of 264 KLPD worth Rs 52 crore have been established.
