U.P. Congress president Ajay Rai questions CM Yogi's SIR review
LUCKNOW, Dec. 12 -- Uttar Pradesh Congress president Ajay Rai has criticised chief minister Yogi Adityanath's plan to conduct a divisional-level review of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls in Azamgarh, Jaunpur and Varanasi.
"SIR is the Election Commission's process then why should the chief minister review it? This proves that the Election Commission has completely become an agency of the BJP," Rai claimed in a statement on Thursday. "An atmosphere of fear is being created in the state in the name of SIR. Employees are dying and people are being harassed," he alleged. "Congress plans to raise this issue among people across the state," Rai said....
