LUCKNOW, June 19 -- Uttar Pradesh Congress will soon include divisional units to strengthen its organisational structure between block and nyay panchayat level, the party's state unit said on Wednesday. "As per the resolution passed in Ahmadabad convention, the Sangathan Srijan campaign of the party will also have divisional units. This will further strengthen the organisation," said Ajay Rai, state Congress chief. UP Congress incharge Avinash Pandey also stressed upon divisional units formation during the meeting for review of zonal committees during the day. "Divisional unit presidents will act as connecting chain between block and nyay panchayat units and their role will be significant in the upcoming Panchayat elections 2026," said Pandey. Spokesperson Puneet Pathak said that review of Awadh zone was conducted by party leaders and the zone includes Lucknow, Unnao, Bahraich, Balrampur, Shrawasti, Gonda, Sitapur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Hardoi and Rae Bareli districts. "The divisional units will help in connecting more people with the party at the ground level which will give new strength to the party," said Rai. The zonal review started on June 15 with west zone, Braj zone on June 15, Bundelkhand zone on June 16, Poorvanchal on June 17 and on Thursday it will be concluding with Prayag zone. A final review will be done thereon. The UP Congress will celebrate Leader of Opposition in the lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi birthday on June 19 by distributing fruits to people at Adarsh Kushth Aashram in Ashiyana.
