U.P. CEO reviews SIR progress, issues directives
Lucknow, Nov. 9 -- Uttar Pradesh chief electoral officer Navdeep Rinwa reviewed the progress of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls through a virtual meeting with all district election officers here on Saturday and issued necessary directions.
He emphasised that the process of adding or deleting names must be fully transparent, ensuring inclusion of all eligible voters and exclusion of ineligible ones.
Rinwa directed districts lagging in distribution of enumeration forms, including Prayagraj, Meerut, Varanasi and others, to complete the task by November 15. Officers were told to ensure use of the updated BLO app for real-time progress tracking.
The chief electoral officer highlighted new voter-friendly features such as the "Book a Call with BLO" facility via the Election Commission of India portal and operation of District Contact Centres for voter queries.
Chief electoral officer Rinwa also asked officials to share daily progress with the media and warned of strict action for negligence. Rinwa urged all political parties and voters to actively cooperate in the revision drive....
