U.P. bets on panchgavya innovation, biogas for rural self-reliance
Lucknow, July 27 -- Promoting rural self-reliance and clean energy, the Yogi Adityanath government has rolled out the ambitious "Go Seva Se Samriddhi" Yojana, blending tradition with technology to boost the village economy, empower women and youth, and protect the environment, a government spokesman said here on Saturday.
"The initiative, starting from Ayodhya, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Chitrakoot, Kanpur, Agra, Bareilly, and Jhansi, will promote panchgavya-based skincare, organic pesticides, and biogas-fuelled mobility. Each district will pilot a distinct innovation-from biogas research in Jhansi to skincare production in Agra and fodder banks in Chitrakoot-creating models for replication across the state," the spokesman said.
The state targets an annual income of Rs 25 lakh in each of 75 identified cow shelters, turning them into hubs of rural enterprise and green technology.
Biogas units, solar sheds, carbon offset projects, and panchgavya-based production units will be set up to promote sustainable agriculture and reduce dependence on LPG.
Gau Seva Commission chairman Shyam Bihari Gupta said the initiative will open new income streams for farmers while cutting input costs. The programme will prioritise women SHGs and rural youth, ensuring inclusive development.
