U'khand Mahotsav ends, CM Dhami reminisces his Lucknow years
LUCKNOW, Nov. 19 -- Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami virtually announced the culmination of 10-day Uttarakhand Mahotsav organised by the Uttarakhand Mahaparishad at Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant Parvatiya Sanskratik Upvan in Lucknow on Tuesday.
He said such festivals are a confluence of cultures and praised the work being done by the Uttarakhand Mahaparishad to preserve and promote its culture. "I have spent several years of my life in Lucknow. The love and affection there is unforgettable. With increasing responsibilities, I could not make it to the city very often. However, you are brand ambassadors of Uttarakhand who are spreading the essence of the hill state in Lucknow," Dhami added.
As part of the festival, various competitions, poetry symposium, cultural events from various states and health camps were organised.
Prof Diwan Singh Rawat, vice chancellor, Kumaun University and Chandra Mohan Nautiyal, a scientist, were conferred Uttarakhand Gaurav Samman for their contribution to research during the valedictory session. A dance performance was presented by Upanchal Kala Kendra and Almora girls.
The performances of Pahadi Ekta Dance by Kanishka Bisht, Shiv Taandav by Anya Madar, dance by Swara Tripathi and singing by Priyanka Dixit also mesmerised the audience.
In the final round of Jhoda competition, 5 teams-Suggamau led by Savita Bisht, Sankalp Group led by Manju Pandey, Ramlila Committee Telibagh led by Rajendra Singh Bisht and Umang Group Vasundrapuram led by Sushila Negi- also performed....
