Dehradun, July 30 -- The Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UCADA) has suspended the registration of Heritage Aviation following a probe after its chopper flew from Dehradun to Kedarnath on July 14 despite weather warnings been issued, a senior official said on Tuesday. A chopper belonging to Heritage Aviation flew for Kedarnath on July 14 at around 5.15 pm. The company was initially granted permission to fly around 2 pm but it was later revoked due to adverse weather conditions. However, the company carried out "unauthorised" flights. UCADA chief executive officer Ashish Chauhan said that a helicopter belonging to Heritage Aviation took off despite instructions from the head of operations advising against it. "We had issued a notice to the company seeking a reply on the violations of the directions. Upon receiving their reply, we examined it. They admitted their mistake in the reply. On the basis of their reply, our head of operations prepared a report for action," he said. "We have cancelled the registration of the company for operations in the Char Dham. We have suspended their rights to use the helipads owned and managed by UCADA," he said, adding that notice has been issued to the firm asking why they shouldn't be blacklisted in the state.
