Tying, beating of youths: Police arrest five accused
PRAYAGRAJ, Aug. 5 -- Police arrested five accused in relation to the case of tying and beating up two youths in a village in Kaushambi on Sunday. The villagers had caught the youths in suspicious circumstances at midnight, tied them to an electric pole and beat them.
Later, they were released with the intervention of some villagers.
On the complaint of the victim, the police have registered a case against the villagers who beat the youth.
Jai Kumar Bengali, a resident of Lalupatti village under Sangramgarh police station area, gave a complaint to the police. On the night of August 2, at around 11 pm, he along with his friend Sachin Patel had gone to the house of one Annu, daughter of Gama Patel, a resident of Naya Purva Kota Bhavaniganj village, to recover outstanding money.
Meanwhile, some people of the village caught them suspecting them to be thieves. They were beaten and tied to an electric pole. On the complaint of the victim, the police filed a case against Dharmendra Patel alias Raja Babu, Lavkush, Dinesh, Rangilal and Kallu.
On Monday, the police arrested five people including Dharmendra Patel, Kallu, Dinesh Kumar, Rangilal alias Kishan Patel and Lavkush Patel.
