PRAYAGRAJ, Aug. 7 -- Two teenage boys drowned while bathing in a pond in Devli village, under Phulpur police station in the trans-Ganga area of Prayagraj district, on Wednesday afternoon. According to SHO Praveen Kumar Gautam, Kushal,11, son of Avadh Bihari Gautam, and Tauheek, son of Maqbool, went to bathe in the village pond around 1 pm with another boy named Umesh. While bathing, Kushal and Tauheek moved into deeper water and began to struggle. Umesh immediately raised an alarm, alerting nearby villagers who rushed to the pond to help. Despite their quick response and efforts to rescue the boys, Kushal and Tauheek had already drowned by the time they were pulled from the water.
