Two students killed, 1 injuredas tractor trolley hits bike on highway
MEERUT, Dec. 7 -- Two ITI students were killed and another seriously injured on Saturday after their motorcycle was hit by a speeding vehicle on the Badaun-Bareilly highway near Chandan Nagar village. The accident occurred when the trio was returning home from college. The vehicle involved in the crash fled the spot immediately. According to police, Aditya Mishra, 19, and Anshul Sharma, 18, both residents of Puthi village under the Binawar police station area in Badaun district, died on the spot due to the impact. Their friend Gaurav, 18, a resident of Vrindavan village, sustained critical injuries and was referred to the district hospital for treatment.
Eyewitnesses said the collision was such that the motorcycle was dragged several metres along the road. Police reached the spot soon after the incident, took possession of the bodies, and sent them for post-mortem examination. Officers are scanning CCTV footage from the area to identify the vehicle responsible. Police said the students were riding on the Bareilly-Mathura Highway around 3pm when a tractor-trolley, reportedly coming from the wrong direction, rammed into their motorcycle. The driver fled with the vehicle immediately after the crash.
