Two shot at, one run over by car after parking dispute
PRAYAGRAJ, June 12 -- Two cousins were injured after they were shot at over a parking dispute, at Pratapgarh's Benipur village, police said. Another cousin was grievously injured when a car ran over him when he came to their rescue, they added.
As per reports, 28-year-old Shailendra Pandey was returning home by car around 10.40 pm on Tuesday when he found the road to his house blocked by two vehicles. When Shailendra objected, there was a dispute with the family members of one Anil Tiwari, in front of whose house the cars were parked.
Allegedly, Anil and others present in his house fired two shots from a weapon at Shailendra. He sustained injuries on his thighs. Hearing the noise, Shailendra's cousin brother Prateek, 31, rushed to the spot and was also shot in the leg. Ashish Pandey, 35, was allegedly run over by an SUV when he went to help his cousins. The accused fled as locals gathered. All three cousins were rushed to the local medical college for treatment.
Late at night, a case of murderous assault under relevant sections was registered against seven named accused, who are Abhinav Tiwari, Akhil Tiwari, Govind Pandey, Abhishek Singh, Vivek Tiwari, Anil Tiwari and Abhishek Tiwari in connection with the incident. Four people from Tiwari's side, who also reached the medical college late at night claiming injuries in the clash, were also admitted for treatment under police watch, said SHO Jaichand Bharti. He said that the main accused had also been admitted to the hospital and was being monitored. As soon as he was discharged, he would be arrested, the SHO added....
