LUCKNOW, May 7 -- A second FIR was lodged against Lucknow University (LU)'s assistant professor Madri Kakoti while a professor was also booked on Tuesday following a complaint by a group of students over their alleged objectionable posts on social media related to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack. The FIR was lodged with Jankipuram police station against Prof Saurabh Banerjee of faculty of management sciences and Madri Kakoti, following a written complaint by a group of students from LU's New Campus. The students accused both faculty members of using offensive language and making politically motivated remarks on platform X, hurting public sentiments. In the FIR, it was alleged that Banerjee's post downplayed the gravity of the terror incident, while Kakoti's earlier remarks were allegedly shared by a Pakistani media handle, drawing criticism. Confirming it, additional DCP, north zone, JK Dubey, said the FIR was registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Earlier on April 28, an FIR was lodged against Kakoti at Hasanganj police station by a student leader on charges of sedition and causing disharmony for her controversial social media post on the Pahalgam terrorist attack....
