Two killed, one critical after bike crashes into tree
PRAYAGRAJ, July 20 -- Two men riding a bike were killed in a road accident in the Aaspur Devasara area of Pratapgarh in the early hours of Saturday, police said. Another man who was also riding pillion was severely injured in the mishap.
The three were returning home from a birthday party when their bike hit a speed breaker and crashed into a tree, killing one on the spot. One of the pillion riders succumbed to his injuries later. Police sent both bodies for post-mortem.
As per reports, Rahul Gautam (28), from Badlapur in Jaunpur, had gone to his sister-in-law's to attend her birthday celebration. He was accompanied by his friends, Akhilesh Gautam (24) from Sheikhpura and Vishal Gautam (18) from Ghatampur. Around 2:30 am, while the trio were returning home on a single motorcycle, the bike hit a speed breaker near Dharoli Canal, causing it to go out of control and crash into a tree.
The SHO of Aaspur Devasara police station Dhirendra Thakur took the three to the Amargarh community health centre. Doctors there declared Rahul Gautam dead on arrival. Akhilesh Gautam died later....
