Two killed, one injured in Handia Road crash
PRAYAGRAJ, Feb. 23 -- Two motorcycle riders were killed and another sustained serious injuries after a speeding SUV allegedly rammed into their bike on Janghai Road under the Handia police station limits in the trans-Ganga area of the district early Sunday morning.
The accident occurred around 5.30 am when the three men were on their way to Handia railway station to board the Jansadharan Express to Mumbai.
Police identified the deceased as 23-year-old Atal Bihari Yadav, son of Achhelal Yadav and a resident of Khanpur in Handia, and 50-year-old Suresh Chandra Yadav, a resident of Patti Lalapur. The injured, 30-year-old Amarjeet Yadav, is also a resident of Patti Lalapur.
According to police, a speeding Bolero allegedly hit the motorcycle on Janghai Road in Handia town. The impact caused the rider to lose control, and the bike crashed into an electric pole along the roadside. Atal Bihari Yadav and Suresh Chandra Yadav died on the spot, while Amarjeet Yadav suffered serious injuries. The SUV driver reportedly fled the scene along with the vehicle. ACP Sheshdhar Pandey said the exact cause of the accident is being verified and CCTV footage from nearby areas is being examined to ascertain the facts....
