KANPUR, Sept. 12 -- Two persons were killed and around 40 schoolchildren narrowly escaped tragedy when a private school bus overturned into a water-filled ditch after colliding with a motorcycle near Gopalpur village in Bhitargaon area on Thursday morning. The accident occurred around 8.30 am when the bus, carrying students of a local inter college, hit a motorcycle and lost control. Two riders on the motorcycle died on the spot, while a young woman travelling with them sustained injuries. Villagers rushed to the spot, broke the windows and rescued the children. Police said most students escaped with minor injuries, though one girl was seriously hurt and admitted to a local healthcare facility.
