AGRA, May 15 -- Hathras and Aligarh police have arrested two individuals in separate cases for posting objectionable content on social media, including edited videos and indecent remarks, which could disturb public peace and social harmony, authorities said on Wednesday. According to a statement issued by Hathras police, a viral video came to the notice of officials on Tuesday, in which the accused, identified as Ashraf Khan alias Nisrat, made indecent remarks after editing a clip of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Hathras SP Chiranjeev Nath Sinha ordered Sasni police to investigate the matter after which a case was registered under sections 152 and 197 of the BNS. Ashraf was subsequently arrested on Wednesday, the SP said. A case was registered at Iglas police station, Aligarh, against Sohil for posting objectionable content on social media.
