Two held for murder over garbage dispute in Mainpuri; rifle recovered
AGRA, Sept. 8 -- Two men accused of murdering a neighbour over a garbage dispute were arrested by Mainpuri police on Sunday. The rifle allegedly used in the crime was also recovered.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Bhoodev and his son Avneesh. They were arrested near Jyoti Crossing in Mainpuri by a special team formed under the direction of superintendent of police (SP) Ganesh Prasad Saha following the incident.
The incident occurred on Saturday in a village under Kotwali police station limits, where a man was allegedly shot dead during an argument over garbage disposal. Two others were injured in the attack. Police said villagers initially resisted handing over the body for post-mortem examination.
SP Mainpuri Ganesh Prasad Saha visited the crime scene following the incident. Bhoodev and his two sons had fled the village after the shooting, and a case was registered against them.
According to police, 40-year-old Yogendra Rajput was on his way to his welding shop when his neighbour, Bhoodev Rajput, allegedly threw garbage in front of his house. An argument broke out, after which Bhoodev's two sons arrived with firearms and reportedly opened fire. Yogendra died on the spot. htc...
