Two held for bike loot; third accused on the run
LUCKNOW, June 23 -- In a coordinated operation, the Nigohan police station and the surveillance cell of Lucknow's South Zone on Sunday arrested two people accused of looting a motorcycle on June 17.
The incident occurred in the early hours of June 17 near Karanpur village, where Sandeep Kumar, a resident of Mirknagar, was intercepted and robbed by three men riding a scooter. The accused allegedly justified the act by claiming that Sandeep had been harassing one of their sisters.

"The accused deliberately attempted to mislead investigators by fabricating a personal motive," said DCP Agarwal during a press briefing. He added, "They falsely accused the victim of harassment to give the crime a personal angle and hinder the investigation. But during interrogation, they admitted it was merely a tactic to divert suspicion."
Over 200 CCTV footage clips from the surrounding areas were examined, which eventually led to the arrest of Abhishek Sahu (21) and Suraj Rawat (22). Both are auto drivers and have prior criminal records.
The third accused, Abhay alias Abhinandan alias Marco, remains at large.
