VARANASI, Nov. 10 -- Two criminals, including the prime accused in the murder of history-sheeter Rajesh Singh alias Mantu, were arrested after an encounter near Asalpur under Ranipur police station in Mau district, police said on Sunday. The accused, identified as Vivek Gond and Mrityunjay Rajbhar, were hired by Rajesh Yadav, who suspected Mantu of having an affair with his wife. During a police chase, Vivek opened fire and was shot in the leg in retaliatory action, while Mrityunjay was nabbed while fleeing. Police said Vivek faces four cases and Mrityunjay seven.
