PRAYAGRAJ, March 18 -- The anti-narcotics task force teams from Meerut and Prayagraj, along with Raniganj police of Pratapgarh district, arrested two ganja smugglers late Monday night. The mastermind has been identified as a resident of Mandhata in Pratapgarh. The duo was reportedly transporting cannabis from Odisha to Delhi for sale. Two suspects were intercepted in Raniganj while travelling to Delhi with 25 kilograms of ganja. Their car was seized and both were sent to jail, said circle officer Vinay Prabhakar Sahani. Officers from Meerut Narcotics and Prayagraj tracked the vehicle on Monday, and SHO Prabhat Singh's team intercepted it in Bithalpur. The arrested were Rohit Kumar Gautam from Pratapgarh and Mehraj from Etah, now in Delhi. Police said Rohit was caught earlier in Mainpuri in 2023.
