Lucknow, Nov. 14 -- A two-day Gauraiya Sanskriti Mahotsav organised by Gauraiya Sanskriti Sansthan, in collaboration with the culture department and Lucknow Development Authority, began on Thursday. Marking the launch was a classical vocal performance by Pandit Saajan Mishra and his son, Swaransh Mishra, at Lohia Amphitheatre. Their rendition in Raag Bageshwari in Teen Taal, through the composition Ae Ri Sakhi Ghar Kaise Jaaun, Jamuna Jal Kaise Bhar Laun, left the audience enthralled. They were accompanied by Dharmnath Mishra on harmonium, Vinayak on sarangi, and Rajesh Mishra on tabla. During the inauguration programme, Gauraiya Nari Shakti Samman was conferred upon Kathak dancer Aarti Shukla, athlete Sudha Singh, writer Satya Singh, social worker Hema Pandey, and folk singer Sanjoli Pandey for their contributions in their respective fields.
