VARANASI, Dec. 1 -- Two cattle smugglers were arrested after an encounter on the Khaliyari-Darma road in Sonbhadra during the early hours of Sunday, police said. Seven heads of cattle, a country-made .315-bore pistol, one live misfired cartridge and one empty cartridge were recovered from a pickup vehicle, officials added. The arrested are identified as Ziaul alias Ziauddin and Rishu Yadav alias Vikas Yadav. Police said a case has been registered against both accused at Raipur Police Station under Section 109 of the BNS, Section 3/25 of the Arms Act, and Sections 3/5A/5B/8 of the Uttar Pradesh Cow Slaughter Prevention Act.
