two arrested on charges of spying in amritsar: Cops
Chandigarh, May 5 -- Punjab Police has arrested two people for allegedly leaking sensitive information and images of Army cantonment areas and air bases in Amritsar, officials aware of the matter said on Sunday.
Punjabh director general of police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav said that Amritsar rural police have arrested two individuals, identified as Falaksher Masih and Suraj Masih from Ajnala area of Amritsar. Officials also seized two mobile phones from their possession.
A case has been registered against the two accused under relevant sections of the Official Secrets Act, Information Technology Act and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Based on preliminary inquiry, police said that the accused were allegedly in contact with Pakistan's intelligence agency.
Amritsar Rural senior superintendent of police (SSP) Maninder Singh said they were collecting and transmitting information about Army movements, locations of BSF camps, airports and other sensitive data to their handlers in Pakistan....
