Two accused in Kapurthala bank robbery held in Mathura
Agra, June 12 -- In a joint operation, Punjab Police and Mathura Police arrested two men on Wednesday who were wanted in connection with a robbery at HDFC Bank in Kapurthala, Punjab. The arrests were made near the new bus stand on the national highway within the Govind Nagar police station limits of Mathura.
According to a press release from Mathura Police, three masked men had stormed the Rihanjata branch of HDFC Bank, under the Motiana police station of Kapurthala, on May 30. The robbers held the staff and security guard at gunpoint and looted Rs 36 lakh in cash along with mobile phones of the bank staff.
Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of Punjab Police, Mathura Police, and the SOG arrested Navjot Singh and Jorawar Singh, both residents of Jalandhar, Punjab. Police recovered Rs 2lakh, a car, and mobile phone....
