Trainee forest guards injured in bee attack in Mirzapur
VARANASI, May 28 -- A swarm of bees attacked a group of 20 trainee forest guards and a ranger during training at the forest nursery in Mirzapur district on Tuesday, leaving all of them injured. They were rushed to a community health centre for treatment and released in the evening, said a forest official.
The training of newly recruited forest guards was on in Kanpur. On Tuesday morning, a group of 20 led by ranger Rajendra Jaiswal, from Kanpur, reached the nursery in Madihan, said Devendra Singh Negi, ranger, Madihan forest range.
While returning from the forest area, the bees suddenly attacked the group. The staff present at the nursery lit a fire and rescued them with the help of blankets, he added.
The injured were given first aid and 17 were discharged by doctors, whereas four, including the ranger, were under treatment, he said....
