Trainee cops learn transgender rights
LUCKNOW, Dec. 17 -- The Lucknow Police Commissionerate on Tuesday organised a one-day special awareness and capacity-building programme on transgender rights at the Reserve Police Lines, aimed at promoting sensitive and rights-based policing in line with the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2019, and its Rules, 2020.
Facilitated by deputy commissioner of police (Headquarters) Anil Kumar Yadav and assistant commissioner of police (Women Crime) Saumya Pandey, the training was attended by approximately 150 women police trainees.
The session was organised in collaboration with the National Institute of Social Defence (NISD) under the Union ministry of social justice and empowerment, and implemented by Samanta Ka Samman Trust, Dholpur.htc...
