AGRA, Nov. 12 -- The movement of heavy vehicles will be restricted within the limits of Mathura district on National Highway 19 (Agra-Palwal-Delhi) from November 13, coinciding with the entry of the 'Sanatan Ekta Yatra' led by Dhirendra Krishna Shastri into Uttar Pradesh at Kosi Kotwan in Mathura. The restrictions will remain in place until November 16, when the yatra concludes at the Banke Bihari Temple in Vrindavan. "We have appealed to the general public to avoid travelling on the route that the 'Sanatan Ekta Yatra' will take along the national highway after it enters Uttar Pradesh at Kosi Kotwan in Mathura on November 13," said SSP Mathura Shlok Kumar while speaking to HT on Tuesday. "After leaving Kosi, the yatra will pass through areas under the jurisdiction of Chhata and Jaint police stations in Mathura," he added. "Residents are advised to avoid the route of the Padyatra from November 13 to November 16 to prevent inconvenience," stated SSP Mathura. The Sanatan Ekta Yatra, led by Dhirendra Krishna Shastri from Bageshwar Dham, began from Katyayani Temple in Chatarpur, Delhi on November 7. The yatra has been passing through various districts of Haryana since November 8 and is scheduled to leave the state on November 13, entering Uttar Pradesh through Mathura, the border district. It will proceed to the Radha Govind Mandir in Vrindavan and conclude at the Banke Bihari Temple on Sunday. Following the recent blast near the Red Fort in Delhi, security concerns have been heightened. In this context, SSP Mathura stated that security duties for yatra have already been assigned in anticipation of large crowds once it enters Uttar Pradesh. "After the alert issued in the wake of the Delhi blast, we have intensified checking at state and district borders," the SSP said.
