Agra, May 30 -- In a joint operation by the Mathura Police and the Income Tax Department, a man was arrested after 450 grams of gold and Rs 1.49 crore in cash were found in his car on the Yamuna Expressway. The recovery was made at the Mant Toll Plaza in Mathura on Thursday. According to additional superintendent of police (rural), Suresh Chandra Rawat, the action was taken based on a tip-off from the Income Tax Department. The man, identified as Deepak Khandelwal, is a trader involved in the sale of gold and silver in Agra. He was reportedly on his way back to Delhi when his vehicle was stopped and searched.
