Haldwani, Aug. 23 -- After seven years of suffering with a clutch wire embedded in her abdomen, a tigress in Uttarakhand's Surai range under Terai East forest division will finally be rid of it, forest officials said on Thursday. The tigress was first trapped in 2018 in a wire snare laid by wildlife smugglers in Khatima area of Udham Singh Nagar district. Though she managed to uproot the snare and escape, the clutch wire tightened around her stomach, leaving her in constant pain.
