LUCKNOW, May 27 -- A tigress that killed two people in Pilibhit was rescued late Sunday night, while a tiger seen wandering in Sitapur district was rescued on Monday morning. The tigress was rescued following a seven-day operation by the forest department. The tigress had killed two farmers between May 14 and 18 and had spread panic among people in a dozen villages in the district. "Two deaths have been related to tigress attack," said Anuradha Vemuri, principal chief conservator of forest, wildlife Uttar Pradesh. Locals allege the tigress killed three persons including an elderly woman. The tigress was finally trapped in a cage in the Sehramau area of the district. The operation had forest teams from Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur and Lakhimpur Kheri . The tiger in Sitapur district was rescued in Laharpur constituency. "The tiger was wandering since past few weeks and had injured few people, accidently. It was rescued and now we are examining the health of the feline," said Naveen Khandelwal, divisional forest officer of Sitapur. Several teams were deployed in different pockets where tiger were reported. Both the wild animals, forest department plans, to leave in the wild their natural habitat. But this after ensuring their health is optimum and are fit to be left in the wild. People in villages where the feline were reportedly roaming were asked to stay indoors and alert. They were asked to report sighting of the wild animal so that forest teams could nab the feline....
