Lucknow, May 30 -- The meteorological department has issued a weather alert for several districts across Uttar Pradesh, with a forecast of hailstorms, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, and strong gusty winds over the next three to four days. There is also a high possibility of thunder and lightning in a large number of districts including state capital Lucknow, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Kanpur, Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Aligarh, among others. Till June 1, light to moderate rainfall is likely in the state capital, with isolated incidents of hailstorms, thunderstorms, and gusty winds. The speed of wind may reach 30-50 km/h, meteorological department officials forecast. Meanwhile, a round of gusty winds with speeds of 40-50 km/h is also anticipated across eastern and central Uttar Pradesh. Residents are advised to stay indoors during stormy weather, avoid open areas, and secure loose objects that could be blown away by strong winds. Farmers are also advised to take necessary precautions to protect their crops from potential hail damage. The current weather conditions are being shaped by multiple active systems: Three separate cyclonic circulations have formed over southern Punjab, western Rajasthan, and the northern part of central Uttar Pradesh in the lower troposphere.
